FAQ - Product & Usage
-
We are a clinician-founded, clinician-led brand, which means that we know firsthand which ingredients are essential for oral health and which ones are unnecessary.
Our products are science-backed, clinically effective, and thoughtfully formulated with the ingredients your mouth needs to be healthy and fewer of the ones it doesn't.
Importantly, because ToothScience is often distributed by dentists, you’ll know which products are right for you based on your dentist’s assessment of your oral and overall health. No more guesswork in the toothpaste aisle!
-
We recommend brushing each quadrant of your mouth for 30 seconds (2 minutes total) in the morning and before you go to bed. And don’t forget your tongue!
-
When you first use ToothScience toothpaste, you might notice some differences:
- It might not taste as sweet. That’s because we use natural flavors like peppermint and spearmint oils.
- Our toothpastes are clear rather than colorful. That’s because we don’t use artificial dyes or titanium dioxide, the ingredient typically used to give toothpastes the bright white color you may be used to.
- Our Daily Care and Kids Care toothpastes might not foam as much as you’re accustomed to. That’s because we don’t use sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) or sodium laureth sulfate (SLES). These sulfates are commonly added to toothpastes to create foam—the same way they’re added to many shampoos to create the rich lather we’re used to—but they’re not necessary!
-
All of our toothpastes are 3.4 oz (96 grams), making them travel friendly!
-
The American Dental Association (ADA) recommends using a pea-sized amount of toothpaste for adults and children over 3 years old. Based on our experience, a tube of ToothScience toothpaste will last the average person about two months if used twice daily.
